Writer of pre-revolutionary and revolutionary Russia, Aldanov was born in Kiev, where he received physical and mathematical and legal education. To Paris he emigrated in April 1919 with a small group of "right-wing" socialists. In exile, has acted as the author of numerous historical and contemporary novels, which have enjoyed great success and have been translated into 20 foreign languages. From 1941 to 1947. he lived in the United States, where, together with Zeitlin founded the New Magazine. His historical novels cover events of Russian and European history from 1762 to 1948. His writings were once banned in Russia and are of great interest to Russian readers and literary critics. Item #15-1834
