United Kingdom: Newcastle, circa 1893. Gelatin silver print. 15 x 20 cm. Mounted on stiff card. Good. With minor rubs. Mount with light toning. Corners of mount lightly bumped.

Built as the General Werder for Norddeutscher Lloyd by Caird & Co, Greenock, Scotland, 1874. Sold to the Albion Steamship Company of Newcastle, 1893, renamed Midnight Sun, for Norwegian cruises. Served as hospital ship in Boer War as Princess of Wales 1899-1901. Back in service as Midnight Sun 1901- 1912. Scrapped on the Tyne 1912. Item #17-6057
