Part of a series of Portraits of Reformation figures in England, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland and France and anti-Reformation figures in Italy, at least one of which was made into a lithograph published by H. J. Meidinger. From a German collection that included the original charcoal drawings for the series.
George Fox (1624-1691), Founder of the Society of Friends, is later than the other figures in this series. Item #51-3671
