The Steam Boat SENATOR CORDILL, a stern-wheel packet with wood hull (170 ft. x 33 ft. x 5 ft.), was built at Howard in 1902. Owned by Vicksburg & Natchez Packet Co., SENATOR CORDILL operated on the Mississippi River in the Vicksburg and Natchez areas initially, and then later, after being sold, on the upper Ohio River. SENATOR CORDILL was the last packet operating regularly on the upper Ohio when she hit a wicket in Dam 14 near Clarington, Ohio and sank on February 5, 1934. Item #63-2574
