Lockwood in Kansas City, Missouri, offering tickets "of all lines in Kansas and Nebraska, in connection with the Kansas City, Fort Scott and Memphis R.R" and encouraging emigration to the Ozarks. The railroad, consolidated in 1888, covered southern Missouri and Arkansas, and was known as the Memphis Route; in 1901 it was subsumed by the St. Louis and San Francisco Railway Company.
