Color plates. This set includes 10 Volumes of pochoir prints with text in French depicting French fashion from 1037 to 1870. Each volume contains twelve pages of prints. Each page has approximately 9 to 15 images. The prints are shown in a style similar to the pochoir prints of the artists known for their Art Deco fashion art. Pochoir is a form of stencil. Ink has been applied to outlines of drawings. Each page is an original inked print, some in metallic ink. The drawings depict fashion over the centuries. The fashions of the eras include robes and capes, headdress, gloves, full dress, tunics, sleeves, neck pieces, embroidery and trim, purses, jewelry, and footwear. There is also a pochoir print on the front and back of each cover. Eras depicted include: Moyen Age, Rennaissance, Henri III-Louis XIII, Louis IV, Louis XV, Louis XVI, Revolution, Empire, Restauration, Second Empire.
